Anyone read any good books lately?!

I absolutely loved "The Hunger Games"! It's gotten so much media attention but still remains one of my favorite books. I hate how everyone turns it into a love triangle between Peeta, Katniss and Gale, it's not supposed to be about the love triangle between them, it's supposed to be about Katniss's fight to survive the games and keep her sister safe at all costs. (Sorry for the rant.)

Has anyone else here read the "Divergent" series or "The Maze Runner" series?

I recently re-read To Kill A Mockingbird, one of my all-time favorite classics. Wonder what the new one about Atticus is about. It's supposed to show a darker side to him.

Well as far as I have read A Finch turns into a complete racist and so opposite to the original book - as he was a hero, and very 'loveable' in the first book. I am very circumspect as too whether it really is Harper Lees writing, they say it is but I wonder....

Divergent and the second book were both very good, IMO. However, on the last book the author pretty much lost it. I didn't have a problem with the ending as so many folks did, it was the totally implausible story line that led there. She completely contradicted her earlier works and it basically made no sense.

I also loved the Hunger Games books. When I was in the hospital for a prolonged period, the first movie was my go-to fall asleep movie. I'd stay awake until she screamed "I volunteer as tribute!", then I'd be out.....

Currently reading Side Jobs by Jim Butcher. Love me some Dresden Files. I was re-reading the Freedom books by Anne McCaffery but am still just not able to get through them, this is like the 3rd time I've tried. Really like her other works, though.

@donrae Read Dragonflight only of hers and quite enjoyed it being Aries and all - not herd of the others... still there are soooo many books to get thru

@NorthFLChick died and gone to heaven, books and more books, wanted to take photo they wouldn't let me - but got new book just out by Virginia Baily called Early One Morning apparantely according to the sales girl it is a fantastic read...

Hey @whoop whoop , so great you have been able to get to a bookstore! My idea of a (totally unrealistic) dream business would be to have a small bookstore. One where regulars would come in, flop in easy chairs to quietly read or chat about books. Have a pot of coffee and tea going, maybe a little hot stove for the winter. Home baked treats to munch on. And I could of course read everything. Totally unrealistic, but nice to dream about

I picked up a new book couple of days ago but haven't started it yet. I got "Celebrity in Death" by J.D. Robb. Right now I'm finishing up Maeve Binchy's book "Quintins". Love her stories, they always transport me to someplace peaceful!
