I ate me a veggie sub on one of them the other night, and 2 slices with turkey & black bean chili last night.

Most the rest went to my neigbors and my husband's stomach (he's 130 lb- *raging jealousy*).

I bake for my living, and I can't help but throw something in the oven when the chance is there, its in my nature. Was some killer bread though!!!

I had two celery sticks with low cal cream cheese on top for an appetizer, cucumbers tossed with low fat yogurt as a starter salad and . . . . . . .
a big bowl of reduced calorie cherry vanilla ice cream for the entree

A girl can only be good for so long.

The first 4 weeks are the hardest, you are fighting a person battle with a habit. A BAD habit!

Once you get in the swing of it, eating less and eating good will reward you with good cravings... you'll be able to know when your body needs a 'vitamin' like B1 or C. So you will actually crave an orange or carrot, rather then chocolate ice cream. Its really an odd sensation at first. Then simple things to make you proud, like you make yourself a chicken breast and a side salad for dinner... and you are full before its gone! Its an amazing moment.

Just put the weight lose consideration aside for now... maybe skip a week weigh in, and just keep track of what you eat and how much. If you notice the changes like cravings changing and being full off a less... you are making the most AMAZING progress right there. I think the weigh-ins can be intimidating and I would hate to have you lose hope when you are doing SO well.

I was wondering, if anyone needed a buddy to lean on? You know, like in a moment of weakness, or irritation if you can't come here fast enough... would it be a good idea to give everyone a contact, whether by email or pm, would that help?

I had a friend to lean on the first 2 months and it helped a lot. She ended up quitting, but she admits she found herself cheating, and she will get back on it. I'm there for her when I can be... I make her walk with me when she comes to visit. I think she appreciates it

KKHen, did you at least add some almonds or walnuts or something to provide protein with the icecream?

Next time you want some ice cream, have dinner first, then have a little bowl of it. If you know you're going to have some, you can maybe eat less.

I'm struggling this week. I've been out of town at a conference since Friday and although I brought lots of healthy snacks with me I don't have a fridge or any way to cook, so I'm doing my best to make good meal choices at the conference, but it's so HARD.

This is not the time to say I have just sat down to a lovely chocolate cake with marshmallows melted on top and chocolate icing on top of that?? Lol, sorry, I hold my hands up to anyone thats on a diet, as I couldn't do it, I need to eat all the time otherwise i feel sick and get the shakes!!
I am on a wheat free diet as I have a vitamin b12 defiency (the choc cake was wheat free) and starting that was really hard as am sure you know there seems to be wheat in most things!!
A year and a half later I seem to have worked it out. I never buy buscuits, cakes or ready meals, I make everything and enjoy cooking especially trying new dishes, but I can only do this as I am not working just now.
So, good luck everyone I really hope its not too hard for you all.
Meant to say I would be happy to be a 'shoulder' to lean on, if anyone wants to just pm me!!

I lost 3 lbs, but then I gained them back...

That was last week, and I've put away the scale, and I've been drinking a lot to keep myself full. If you know what I mean, exercise isn't really my problem. Eating is my problem.

Hopefully I'll be able to overcome that! I started drinking those Maxwell House cafe coffee flavor things that come in those tin cans (I'm so great at explaining things, aren't I?

) before or after breakfast to keep me full. I get up 3 hours before I leave, so I'm always hungry a little bit before I leave.

Well, thanks for listening to my little... "speech". LOL! And remember: DON'T GIVE UP! I almost did, but I thought of a different approach. I have an app on my iPod that I can record everything I eat on, and it has the calories. It also records my exercise and the calories burned. I always feel really dumb writing down something I wasn't supposed to eat, and seeing that I went over my calorie limit, so I think it helps to record everything I eat!

Maybe we should all start listing low calories, or low fat FILLING foods we've found we like. Especially things that are good for snacking or taking with ya?

I like the Special K bars, very good for 90 calories.

I also like the multi use Wasa Bread Crackers (These remind me of crackers or chips in how you use them, but are really flat breads at less then 20 calories each)

Laughing cow light cheese

Salsa (especially homemade)

Sargento Reduced fat cheeses, lots to chose from and less then 60 calories each for the sliced ones.

Turkey bacon over pork bacon

Weight Watchers Mini 100 calories carrot cakes! (YUM)

These are things I like to keep around for cravings, or have to grab and go.
