Anyone ready to ring in the new year...and lose weight/get fit?

That's awesome!! Does that mean you're volunteering to keep it updated???? I'm soooo bad at computer stuff. I'll try to input my info...hope I don't mess things up!

Nope. Nuhuh. Not me. That's why I opened it up so you can update your own self.

Let me know if you need help though.

I put mine on there!

mom'sfolly :

I put my weight on the spreadsheet for all to see. I'm 5'10", and 48. My knees are sore with the little bit of Christmas weight I gained, and I'm concerned about having my blood work done in three weeks. But I'm here, and y'all are going to help me.

Going out to cover the plants and put the chickies to bed.

Another 5'10 er!! Seems like there are quite a few of us!!

I hate going to the doctor and being asked if I exercise. They don't count running up and down to the chickens and horses umpteen times a day, up and down the stairs, back and forth to the laundry down in the garage....if they only knew!!! I get more exercise than a marathon sprinter but I have to tell them no...do you know what that does to one's BMI? I'm not losing weight to fit a statistic. I just want to feel good in my skin. Glad to have you aboard!!

Get yourself a pedometer. Then show doc how many "steps" you put in a day. I bet you get a lot of exercise - and yes, it counts!

I don't always report my weight in tenths but I have a deal with MeatKing so I want to make sure I'm playing fair

Well, I've been working on it a bit... trying to get back down a pants-size. My problem isn't the weight- it's the distribution of the weight - all around my waist. So if I can keep my activity up and my intake moderate, I can keep my waist from being too big for my pants. I already went up a pantssize from last winter. Don't want to continue that trend.

I'm in! Lost about 50 lbs 5 years ago or so, and have been wrestling with the "final 15ish" for the last 2 years!!!
I gave up over the holidays this year which set me back a bit- all in all- I have about 14 pounds to lose- and I'd like to tone up.
Stats:
5'1" (go shorties!)
139lbs
goal is 125 and toned

plan- get back to the gym! Zumba is my poison...I'm an addict! I can't wait to get back- i took a break of about 6 months while I started pastry school. yeah- that didn't help keep the pounds off!
pants are tighter now- so back to the gym i go! I also HATE being out of breath after dancing through like 2 songs!!
Don't suppose there's anybody else out there in a similar situation? Any other Zumba freaks??!?!
Good luck to everyone!

I'm 5'7 and weigh about 190lbs. This is my sophomore year of college and I need to get off the freshman 15 plus the summer after 15

. My Major goal would be 140, but for now I'll work towards 160. I'm type 1 insulin dependent diabetic and I'm doing this mostly for my health. Although my disease can't be cured I can certainly prevent future problems while I'm in my late teens/early 20's. I am keeping a food log on top of a blood sugar log, going back to the campus gym (I broke my foot and was out of commission for a while), and cutting portion sizes. I'll be using the google document as well.

Curious- how many calories a day are you going for? Do you have a minimum as well as maximum?

They gave me a minimum of 1200 with a max of 1550. I used to stay by the 1200 a day level until thanksgiving and that all got blow out! now I'm trying to get back on track. If you put your info in on Sparkpeople.com they share where you should be, and where you want to be based on your calorie intake and activities. I was walking a mile a day... we just started back up after not doing it for a month yesterday.

Just lost 43 lbs in 2 months and 1 week

I am going to be a few days behind everyone, won't be able to do a proper weight until Mondays (I work Sat a 24 hr shift) so to get a true overnight fasting morning weight it will have to be Mondays.
I plan to keep really good track of my portion control, and do high energy or power yoga 5 days a week. (not on Sat or Thur) but those days I work as a paramedic in a pretty high call volume area so I get quite a bit of lifting, and walking during the 24 hrs. The down side is I can't always be as careful about my eating on those days, but I will attempt to make the best choices possible.

I plan on at least a 20lb weight loss and am really hoping for 30. I am almost 5'3".
