Anyone ready to ring in the new year...and lose weight/get fit?

elizabeth, as much as it kills you throw those cakes and pastry in the trash.. it took money and time to make them but if it is hurting your hubby then get rid of them.. i have found most husbands will eat what they have rather than make something for them selves. i am at the end of day 4 and i am finding i am not hungry.. if i eat a lean cuisine i am full after 1/2 and need nothing till dinner and then just a couple of bites.. i hate this part because i will go into starvation mode if i don't force myself to eat.. ugh.. hopefully it will pass soon.. gl all and keep up the good work

You know what! I thought I was gaining weight until I signed into spark people and forgot to weigh in last month when I gained... so I went and weighed myself to get back on the ball and the scale said 160.4!!! Are you kidding me! I swear I just checked (but I was on my womanly cycle) at the end of last week and it was 164. I'm like so over joyed. Given that I gained after Thanksgiving and just tried to get back on the ball again after Christmas... so I guess I'm doing good huh?! Now to add the exercise back & start counting calories again. I'm only trying to intake 1200 a day at this point.

I applaud your efforts! Good job on all that water and walking and changing your lifestyle!

May I suggest that, in order to get healthier, substituting aspartame-based soft-drinks for regular may not be a good idea. I know it's not been "proven" but I've see a lot of stuff suggesting that aspartame/nutrasweet/whateverit'scallednow is not good for you. Splenda or stevia based drinks might be worth exploring though. Or even agave, in moderation.

Just my $.03 worth.

I know I have heard so much about aspartame worsest was that it started out as an ant killer!!!! BUT for the time I will have to drink it. I would like
to get the Pepsi out of my diet alltogether, but it is my caffine. Poor DH will tell me sometimes that he really needs me to drink a Pepsi

We both aspire to wear the same pant size. Well, look on the bright side, last year you had 30 to lose, this year only 15!!

ok i couldn't stand it i got on the scale.. i am down 5 lbs so far.. i have cut out alot of the carbs and have yet to get on the treadmill.. haven't been here much. maybe i will lose another lb by saturdays weigh in.. i just put chucks of beef roast into the crockpot with campbells beef broth, marjoram, thyme, diced onion and a clove of garlic.. will add lots of carrots and veggies and a little potato later, instead of making pot roast gravy.. i am leaving it like a soup. will serve with italian bread for hubby and tiny piece of bread for me.. cu all later and behave, weigh in is saturday..
