Oh don't give up !!!!!!!! I have not lost anything either!!!!!!!! I struggle too and it would be good to have someone else who is not doing as well as all the "goodies"
You at least were trying to eat better. I always fail at that when others bring in cream buns and biscuits - I have no self control!!!!!

Anyhow - keep going don;t give in and it doesn;t matter if we don;t lose like the others just having a better lifestyle and a goal is a good step in the right direction.
You never know we might even overtake them eventually!!!! There bound to slow down!!!!!!

Love much -

I ate too much at breakfast! I've been doing REALLY bad the past few days, and I gained back the 3 lbs I lost... Well, I guess breakfast is my weakness...

We can do this--for us! Come on all, don't quit on me when I am just getting started... I even have my workout clothes on and am ready (almost) to jump on the bike trainer (not a person, LOL) I think I will try and play farmville while I ride!

Just need that last cup of coffee to get me going...

Good luck today everybody and remember every meal that you eat healthy is one more meal that is good for you. If you don't eat healthy one time, then do it the next. Don't give up!

Me, I am NOT getting on the scale because it messes with my mind. If I don't drop in weight I will get discouraged so I go more by the fit of my clothes.

THANK YOU!!! That makes me feel better... No more scale for me! Away it goes! Because it depresses me... By the fir of the clothes it shall be! LOL

Yes!! You really can do it. WE can do it. Doesn't it feel good when the pants are loose? I hate that scale because it lies. No kidding. I weighed myself yesterday and decided to eat one last fattening yummy meal before hitting it hard.
Today I am 4 pounds heavier! I just laughed. I did NOT eat 4 pounds of pasta! It is water weight due to the sodium in the italian sausage and cheese in there.

So... today is a fresh start and I get pretty focused when I decide to do something. I am actually excited to start feeling better about me.

Anyone thinking of it, I started off my diet in Septmeber by doing the 'special k' plan. It sounds silly, but it taught me portion control. I didn't drop a pants size in 2 weeks like it said, but I did drop 5 lbs in my first 2 weeks. Eventually I looked at the numbers on that breakfast and started to look at what else would give me a good protion size and be around that in calories and fat. I made sure to keep doing the special k cereal though at least 3 days a week.

I found I really like the 'hearty harvest fruit & nut oatmeal' quaker makes. Its perfect for the breakfast calories even with the skim milk. I tried to keep my breakfast under 300 calories a day. Lately, I've been bad to my bad habit of skipping breakfast and just getting jacked on coffee.

If you REALLY must skip breakfast, sometime I just can't stomach it in the morning, I share a banana with my daughter. I feel much better, and I can hold that down well in the morning.

So with all that... I will NOT be sharing my recipe for Chocolate Bread French Toast with whipped cream & berries! I save that one for Christmas morning anyways.

Don;t know if this will be helpful to anyone -

Regarding portion size
I think one of the most difficult things we face is portion distortion. I mean when you go out for a meal your conditioned to look for the resturaunt that gives you the most food on your plate or the chip shop that gives the largest portions of chips etc. Thing is the more you eat the more your stomach stretches and so the harder it is to fill and then thats when we all feel more hungry. The less we eat our stomachs start to shrink and the opposite happens. ITs that first few days and weeks of a diet that is the really hard bit when were craving for that BIGGER portion our body is telling us we need to fill that great big swollen stomach! When really we don;t actually need all that food to be healthy and happy. So we have an issue with our brains telling us one thing and our bodies something else.

To correct portion distortion I was told simply do this - ditch the large dinner plate!!!!!!
Take a side plate and put out your food on that whatever you can;t put on it YOU CANT HAVE!!!!!
It is a good way to half the size of portion we eat and yet still feel like your having a dinner like everyone else.

Anyhow I do hope this helps some of you struggling with this. It really did help me get a control of the amount I ate! I certainly would have been giulty of stuffing my face with two large burgers and chips and top it off with a large portion of ice cream and double cream on top with chocolate sauce!!!!! NOw I actually feel sick thinking about it!!! I certainly couldn;t eat that now, however Christmas is always a difficult time as the portion control goes out the window then and we are all I guess struggling comming off that and most of us still have odd things hanging about that still need eaten which also doesn;t help much.

Love to you all keep out of the biscuit tin!!!!!!!

Ok, today is my weigh day (too much going on on Saturdays - will be out of town tomorrow for a conference) and I'm 151.8 which means I'm down 3.4 lbs total!

I haven't been great with the diet this week, but I guess I managed to do enough to lost another pound or so.

To the rest of you - don't get discouraged! Dieting always has its ups and downs and we can't be perfect every day or we'd all go crazy!
