SO Beautiful!

Couldn't wait anymore. The last time I candled there were 3 strong eggs and 3 with dark masses but I couldn't see movement. I put all 6 back under broody. I just went out and snuck a quick peek at the eggs I could easily get out from under her. 4 pipped eggs peeping back at me. I wonder if she worked her magic on the other 2 pyncheons as well?

hmm....I hit Day 20 at 10:30am. I thought I saw some rocking of the eggs yesterday, but nothing to day. No pips, no tapping, nothing. I am cautiously optimistic. 2 of the 6 eggs that made it to lockdown have such huge air sacs, I don't know how those little chicks are going to have any room to move into the proper position to hatch. I candled them before I took the turner out of my Brinsea and tried to set them up in the best position to be able to hatch. I am praying for at least 2 chicks to keep each other busy or I am going to have to kick it in gear and find some new hatched chicks to keep the little one company.

Congrats to everyone with new chicks, and fingers crossed for my friends here waiting through this long weekend! Levi, those fuzz balls are precious!!

It's day 19 and I have 2 pips!!!!!

My makeshift candler sucked so I haven't been able to see much for the last couple of days so I just assumed all were well!!!

Hoping I get some babies today or tomorrow!!!

She is gorgeous. We had a bantam DB, she was one of my favorites. I would get more but our summer heat is hard on them..

One of the reasons why I'm going with mostly brahmas is that its winters like 9 months out of the year here...lol...or seems like it anyway. This week is the first nice week we've had since last year.

I would love to have partridge chantecleurs. We get a solid week of 100°+ in the summer. I've had people tell me to go ahead with them, "Only the heat tolerant will survive and go from there" That's not how I do things, I would feel terrible if they were suffering in the heat! I can only run so many misters and fans for them. I'm a sucker for penciled or partridge birds, just something about the pattern.
