There's no ballpark figure on how long it takes. Some take a few minutes, some a whole day. I notice they get faster after there's a chick in the brooder "cheering them on".

I think I see some veins, but without any movement of any kind I more or less admit defeat for now. I'm going to leave them in the bator for a while, just in case. My brother-in-law hatches hundreds of chicks a year and he'll be here this Saturday. When he is here I'll have him walk me through an egg-topsy and figure out what I did wrong.
