Anyone setting eggs tomorrow (13th March, EDD Apr 3rd)

Clothdiaperingmom-
Yep it sure is an EE That one is a RIRxameraucana and EEs can have feathered feet since they are basically an Ameraucana or an Araucana crossed with any other breed. I have a light brahma EE that has feathered feet.

Our 6th just hatched!

Gotta go make dinner. I will try and post some pic's after we eat.

Congratulations Tamara!

Our second just popped out!
Its either a black orpington or a blue orpington. Not sure yet which

Way bigger than the first chick and was dragging a bit of yolk around attached to an umbilical cord. Its dropped off now - is that ok?

Well. I'm not sure. There are 24 eggs in the incubator. 4 I'm pretty sure are duds - looked half full etc on day 18 but I thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt.
The other 20 all looked full or nearly full on day 18, but I only saw movement in 6.
I'm certainly not expecting 20! Maybe 10.

A real mix of pure breeds and 4 mixed from my own flock.
I found myself a woman on ebay that had 8 different breeds all kept separately and told her to send about 15 eggs at random, so they really are a mixed bunch. Then I picked up some more orpingtons and cochins locally and then threw in 4 of our own blue eggs just for fun.

When I look in there it only looks like there's a dozen in there, not two,

Particularly now big feet orpington has kicked them into the corners

Little Wyandotte looks terrified of the big orpington chick...keeps running and hiding in the corner.

So yeah, there's 20 possibles, 4 unlikelys and I'd be happy to get 10 out of it in the end, being my first time.

I got carried away

I have two hen houses. We had a predator attack about a month ago so my flock of 15 got depleted to 8. All in all I have space for maybe 10 more hens. Even if 20 hatched statistically could be 10 roosters...so anyway...

I got back from MIL's and the 1st pip is now zipping, and here is what I saw!

Here is the 1st surprise hatchling (the 1 we didnt even see a pip in).

Again, a little fluffier.

I was moving my hatchlings from the other day and noticed 2 of them have a large mass on their chest. (its on the right side on both of them) They didnt hatch with it...its new. Anyone have an idea what the heck it is????

Beautiful colour chicks!
What are they?

As for the mass of their chests, is it their little crops full of food?

Picture...?

Here is baby #3.

This one IS a silkie.....5 toes.
As for the other 2, I think quite possibly silkie mixes.
A lady gave me the eggs. She had a ton of chickens, all breeds, just roaming around her place. Her silkies were together, but I suppose they could be mixed. She had 1 large cochin....so not sure really. Just glad to have 1 silkie out of it. All 3 eggs looked the same.

Oh, AND I have another pip in 1 of the larger white eggs!

There are a few white, a few brown...

About the crop, I just looked up anatomy and that is where the mass is. Is there something I need to do for it? Will they be ok???????

Oh cute silkies! I have one black silkie so far and 2 more silkie eggs to hatch, one is zipping right now and appears to be blue or black. I am really hoping for a white one or a splash tho.
They are all so cute. I can't wait to hold one, I wish these straglers would hurry up:)
