Do you have the red plugs out? If you are using the LG still air you can remove both plugs to try and reduce humidity. How much water do you have in the bottom? I only filled the center rings and not the outer two. I have a humidity of 37 right now.

don't let it linger too long at 102 - read that 102 will bake them if left too long...

Big Question-- when do you begin to turn your eggs? those of you with auto turners do they begin to turn at once or do you turn them on after 24 or 48 hrs?

Took some pictures of my candling and sent them to a "chicken friend" and she reports that my 3 EE look fertile!!!!!....The other eggs are dark brown so I won't know about them till Wednesday...

How is everyone else doing so far??

The auto turner begins to turn right away. Esp since you should have your incubator up and running for a few days with the egg turner running as well because it effects the temps. I had everything running for 3 days, Including the egg turner. The egg turner turns the eggs 6 times a day but does it very slowly.

I ran the incubator, but without the turner. I had the turner on the counter in our cool storage room turning the fertile eggs as I collected them to set.

I placed 26 eggs in my incubator tonight! We are very similiar in our hatch in that I am also hatching Black Copper Marans, Ameracauna's and Welsummers. I am also using a LG still air. Can you share what you are doing differently this hatch?

How does the towel not get your incubator too hot? I placed a towel over mine because it had dropped a bit in the middle of the night and 5 mins later my temps were 103.5!!!!!

Here are the eggs set...

those r some beautiful eggs!!!!

not sure why the towels didn't make my temp go up...could be I had the heat thingy you turn low because the towels did a good job of keeping my temp stable....i've since removed the towels because ever since we hit the 60's and 70's here in Missouri, the temp and humidity have really stabilized...i even got one of those rempti temp 500r that i read in a few posts does a good job of controlling temps....it's a thermostat people use on their reptiles...i haven't installed it because my temps have been doing so well i don't want to mess anything up....
