Anyone Setting Eggs Tonight 3/31/2011 - Come join me if you like!

They still have it for sale on brinsea.com for $99.99. They are definitely worth the few extra $. I started with an LG, and had horrible hatches. Then I bought the 20 Eco, and have had awesome hatches, even with shipped eggs. I swear the thing makes chicks grow in the egg! Lol

I just went to Brinsea and I don't see that one on sale, any ideas?

Never mind, I found it, but it doesn't have a turner,

They consider it semi-auto, as ya don't have to open it to turn the eggs, ya just tilt it on one of it angles. Example:
From this angle ->\\_/<- to this angle.

I will join if I can. I have eggs due the same time. I have 21 mutt chick eggs in the bator from Buff Orp, White Rock/Cornish, Barred Rock, Americauna, RIR and I think one barnevelderX hen. I also have 31 quail eggs in there. So far I candled ten chick eggs and they are all growing Woohoo!!!

Temps won't stay up now, they were too high last night and now they are dropping (on two thermometers) to 97.8...What should i do?

nice to see this thread grow - it's going to be exciting as the time draws close and the peeps start hatching!

That's a great price on the brinsea - thanks for sharing!!

my temps and humidity were very unstable last night - not sure what was wrong since my room temp hasn't changed...

I threw on a few more towels to hold the heat in - removed the sponge - AGAIN - and so far it's been holding...

I just sent away for a zoo medirept 500r thermostat, hoping it helps because i don't understand why my temps are all over the place when the room isn't drafty and the room and hunidity of the room hasn't changed...aauugghh!!!

I know this is gonna be a long post, but I am hoping someone will be able to help here....I am going to list my thermometers and the highs/lows of temp and also going to list where the are sitting in the incubator.....

Thermometer 1) Acurite Humidity Monitor w/Indoor Temperature, sits in the middle of incubator on the egg turner: Humidity 61%/Temperature High of 97/sitting at 95 currently

Thermometer 2) Glass thermometer that came with the egg turner, only does temperature, sitting on top of the eggs: Temperature 102 (thermometer bulb is right under the heating element)

Thermometer 3) Acurite that has a long wire probe going into incubator, stuck to the plastic part of the paper that glass thermometer is attached to: Humidity 40% Low 97.3/High 100

Thermometer 4) Springfield with a long probe like thermometer 3, sits ontop of the paper of the glass thermometer: Humidity 35%, Low i96.8/High 100.2

So, why are all the readings different....All have fresh batteries in them 3 of them are all in the same area.....Last night the temps were spiking to 102, would that have killed the hatch?

I am hoping that someone can give me some insight into this, tell me what to buy, etc.....

Also, when candling, do I keep pointy end down just like it is in egg turner and how long can they be outta the incubator for candling?

I am setting 20 assorted eggs tonight. I have an LG still air bator. I ordered mine as well, from Iowa to California. This is my first time ever hatching anything. Hope it all goes well:fl. Looking forward to hearing about everyones progress.
I'm eggsited to candle to see what's going on in there.
