For now we are trapped: There was so much rain over night that the creek at the bottom of our hill has turned into a raging river that went over our bridge. I'm not driving through this…Were having so much rain, that is a worry too. Not so much for the water fowl but my poor chickens. Although I do think the water fowl would like some nice dry days too. Which finally over the weekend, it's just going to be very cold.
My weekend will be full of work too: Cleaning up the bridge, digging more drainage ditches, digging up the veggie garden beds, digging up the Potato Patch, pruning trees, selling duck-eggs and maybe creating a second potato patch...Probably wondering where the ark is!The water is over the bridge down our drive but not enough we couldn’t drive through but dh will be busy tomorrow cleaning the culvert out.
Part of me is ready for spring, but the mean spirited part of me says keep the snow coming! We have an awful neighbor that burned down one shed due to improper care, built another in is place-totally without permits and structurally unsound, that collapsed last winter that he “salvaged” over the summer by using ratchet straps to hold up the walls while he put on a new roof, this time with real trusses(rafters?). Anyway, the thing is still structurally a complete mess, and I can say this even with knowing squat about building things. (The 2x4s in the walls are like 3-4 feet apart and facing different directions) the whole neighborhood is waiting for it to collapse again.
{I'm not proud of wanting it to fall in, but the guy is really a terrible person that has done some Really rotten stuff, like threatening my in laws who are also neighbors and calling the cops on my husband saying he had pulled a gun on him one day when my husband had asked him to move a car that he was working on -in the middle of the dead end road for HOURS-out of the way so cars could get through!}so yeah, more snow please.
