Anyone train their Shelties as stockdogs?

I'm way late on the boat, but I'm glad Iceh pointed you in AWFA's direction! Also, look up Golem Kennels for my favorite family of working shelties. Claire does fantastic things with her dogs and I believe just posted videos of them doing morning chores with her on AWFA's Yahoogroup.

Definitely train your own dog. It sounds like she's got the dominance-based farmcollie wiring to go with that beautiful face, so she's going to want to be your goon dog, not the prey-drive-based herder usually catered to in professional herding training. Lucky you!

I have an 8 yr old sheltie/papillion/border collie cross...City dog till she was 5.
CC Will herd the chickens, and the horses (even loose cows once)...unless she has a ball...then she is useless LOL
