Anyone wanna work out with me???

Muscle weighs more then fat. Do not get discouraged jenichick. With your workout you are doing you will definitely start gaining weight but remember it is muscle weight!

I think it's from the weights because my clothes are fitting just a little better.

The way your clothes are fitting is a better way to keep tabs on how you are doing then a scale. Well that is just how I feel.

That's what I keep telling myself, too, since the scale is NOT going down. It isn't going up (small consolation), but an even weight isn't very encouraging when you've been working hard and being good!!

Glad to hear you got your computer back, earthnut!

As far as liking potatoes ... I've never really liked chips, but these days I am sometimes eating Baked Lay's. They have only a few grams of fat and not bad on calories. I eat them VERRRYYY slowly, like 4 or 5 bites for each chip, so that's a lot of crunchy bites in a serving. I'm sticking to my diet pretty well, but sometimes I want something snacky and crunchy and these are working well for me.

I'm down more ... about 7-1/2 pounds in the 10 days since I got the scale, and probably a few pounds the week before that. I think I just had to make up my mind to do it and it's nice to have control over SOMEthing in my life while so much of it is crazy.

And I have a new idea. I'm going to reward myself ... not with food ... maybe something to wear that makes me feel good about myself (most of my clothes are hand-me-downs that are about 2-3 sizes or more too big and make me look 20 pounds heavier than I am anyway). I hit a new "10" mark ... the second digit on the scale went down by one.

I'm going to reward myself with something every 10 pounds I think.

I had to eat out twice in the last week ... eating out is HARD sticking to a diet! For me anyway. I don't know what's out there that isn't bad. I got a broiled chicken sandwich on wheat from Chick-Fil-A one day, and split a Subway with my daughter another time.

Not able to be online much, but thanks for letting me check in.

Good luck to everyone!

goodegg-
I'm so happy for you. I so badly want to lose some weight.
wooden and wegot.............I am about to cry!
This is so @$%^* frustrating. I worked out 5 days this week, and have really been sticking to my diet, but it is all for nothing.
Today's weight = 169
I didn't lose ONE POUND.
Before we started this it was nothing for me to put down a sixpack and a 1/2 dozen chicken livers while I watched CSI.
I have truely changed my behavoir and it seems to no avail! I wanna just give up................ARGH!!!!!!
My only consolation is that I do feel better..way more energetic. I'm getting up earlier, sleeping better, getting more vitamins.

BUT I WANNA WEAR SMALLER JEANS!
THIS SUX!

I like the workouts, the hard sweats, the endorphins, ..............................BBL WHEN I HAVE COOLED DOWN SOME....I'M TOO FRUTRATED TO WRITE

NoSpringChic ~ DON'T GIVE UP!!!

Do this until the end of October. That's 5 more weeks. You can do it, I know you can.

I'm in the same boat. I can even see better muscle definition in my rib cage, but not my abs yet. Still too much padding there. I'm not in a smaller pair of jeans yet. My weight hasn't changed.

I set the end of October as my goal, since that's when the college reunion is.
But I think it's also a good goal because my body has to get used to the new routine. I've given up before and was sooo depressed.

But you've said you feel better, and you know you're making better choices. So focus on your healthy life benefits and don't weigh in for a couple of weeks. Nothing good is easy....

But that's great, nospringchic! I agree, please don't give up. Feeling better and having more energy is great, and it will help you keep working at it. With better sleep and more vitamins you are surely getting healthier too.

Better health means your skin will look better, and your hair will be softer/shinier and lots of other cosmetic benefits, plus you might avoid some nasty bug this winter that might otherwise make you feel awful for weeks.

You ARE getting some benefit, and surely the smaller clothes will follow.

(It's just easy for me to lose right now because I have so much TO lose ... not that that makes me lucky, LOL. I'll be at this for many months before I can get there ... )

I'm glad you're feeling better though. Hold onto that and hang in there!!!

Hi ladies!

I'm here to fess up. Last night, I got home from work at 8 pm and hadn't eaten anything all day....I got home and there was nothing to cook and no leftovers; so I....I ordered pizza. And Regular Root Beer. And Cheesy bread.

I ate two slices and a whole lot of that cheesy bread.

Today, I feel so gross. So at least y'all are doing good in exercising and eating right! After last night, I need to get back on track--I want to lose at least 20 pounds by Christmas (and not gain it back!)

Thanks for y'alls encouragement!

I did good yesterday until around 3pm. Then a coworker's 6-year old son walked by drinking a Sunkist orange soda. It was like I crumpled in around my belly. I HAD to have one of those! I only drank 1/2 the can, and still felt guilty. I have such horrible willpower sometimes!

1/2 the can actually I think that is GREAT will power!!!

I have been eating bad lately....

reason I have not been posting for a while.

Bad eating means HUGE breakfast nothing the rest of the day but water. Then a dinner. I have been good about dinner small serverings and no fast food.

Yesterday, I had no breakfast and then I ate 12 spicy shrimp sushi rolls. OH they were so good!!

wegotchickens, I had an orange soda yesterday as well. It was in a 24 oz cup but I FILLED the cup with ice to the top then added the fountain soda.

I do not have a scale so I do not know about weight loss but my clothes are fitting better.

I haven't read through this post yet (work keeps getting in the way...:thun) but I just joined weight watchers yesterday because I'm determined to lose weight.

And why do I want to lose weight? After nagging my DB about getting a cat, I made the proposition of weight loss = cat. So, we decided with a loss of 20lbs, I get another dog... and when I lose 10 after that, I get a cat. So not only am I doing this for myself, but for two animals we'll be saving from the humane society!

So kudos to the ones before me who have ventured to lose weight. I hope I'll be right there with you!
