I'm pretty excited for some reason today. I'm on day 16 and will be going into lockdown on Friday! Since today is day 16, all of my chicks should be completely covered in feathers and their yolk sac should be dwindling down/absorbing into their body cavity. Last night, I had a dream that all of them hatched, and that my incubator was doing nothing but chirping!

You guys are getting me super excited reading, I'm only on day 12. I am doing dry incubation for first time and I'm not going to do candle on day 14, very nervous about outcome, day 8 candle stunk eggs were either poor quality or someone played shake the eggs. My husband thinks I have lost it too, but at least were all addicted to something good for us! I can't get pics to upload so will just say my silkies, dunn frizzle, and lavender orp are looking great. Keep posting so I can handle the wait.

I will for sure post pictures... I 've had a hard day getting my temperature stable... all I did was remove the turner... and begin adding water... then I started messing with temp and the rest is a done deal... I hope I managed to get things right!! Temperature dropped caused I placed eggs out of the turner on the wire which was lower in the incubator... it read 94 which was dangerous... then I began the adjustments, and adjustments,

and it has been a problem all day... I went and bought another thermometer and hygrometer just because of this... it is driving me crazy... I have spent 18 days with perfect conditions to mess it all up on day 18, NO!

now things are settled! I hope things have not gotten so out of whack that it hurts the chicks... this morning all 10 were moving and looked great!

I sure hope my lockdown goes a bit smoother than yours! I Last night the temps wouldn't stay high enough for my liking. I kept getting up in the night to check on it because I don't want to lose them NOW. But when I snuck a candling in this morning, they seemed fine. It's amazing to see how much they can grow in just one day! I have a weird suspicion that maybe they aren't as far along as they should be.. But I could be wrong. This is my second time trying to hatch, but my first hatch never hatched and was a complete failure because of a major fall the incubator took (the table it was on BROKE). I was devastated.. Anyway, It's only day 16 for them, so they have some time to get it together! I think my little bantam eggs are going to hatch first!!
