Anyone want to hatch with me? - Went in 01/16/14.

Has any one set the same time as me and wants to hatch a long?

I have 6 Blue Leghorns, 2 White Leghorns, 2 MaransxWhite Leghorn and 2 langshansxWhite Leghorn that went in on the 01/16/14 at around 4:15pm.

I am in Australia so the times are different to you Americans

Date they where set and when they will hatch: Set - 01/16/14 4:15 // Hatch day - 02/06/14

Breeds set: 6 Blue Leghorns, 2 Marans X's, 2 Langshan X's and 2 White Leghorns.

Posted, Pick up or own eggs: 6 Blue Leghorns - posted // 2 MaransX's, 2 LangshansX's and 2 White Leghorns - Own eggs.

Bator(s) used or broody: Bator used - King Suro 20.

Extras: My 6 Blue leghorns where posted. Only 2 of the 6 had detached air sacks so the usually procedure was set in for re-fixing them.

I'll hatch with you. cluckcluckluke. I set 9 buff orpintons Jan 12. I will have 10 maybe 11 BOs to set jan 19. This is our first attempt at hatching. We collected all these from our three pullets (only two are laying). We are using a hovabator 1588 to incubate and a friend old lg still air to hatch. These are a show strain we received shortly after Christmas. Our first hatch should be Feb 2. We're in mid Nebraska.

Here are some chicks from my last hatch. 4l are White Leghorns and one is a Frizzle X WLH.
They hatched 1 week ago.

I'm on Day 18, my broody decided to go broody the 2nd time on New Year's Eve, so the next few days I'll be watching her closely. I *should* have some marans, & olive eggers hatching. I have 2 Roos, one is a Marans x New Hampshire red (mom was sold to me as a Rhode Island Red chick) & one is a blue splash Marans. I'm not sure how he came out clean legged, I picked him up at the farm & the parents had feathered legs. His sisters only have one leg that's feathered... Not sure what the deal is. So these will be an interesting look, hopefully the marans got me all & not the NHRx roo.... We shall see
Not sure exactly how many eggs, I just put a bunch under her & she ate one yesterday... Something must have been wrong with it.

Beautiful chicks btw, I love leghorns. I had one & she was like a dog. She died this past summer though I would like to get a few for my flock sometime in the future

Sounds good Gen. Keep us updated on those hatching chicks. Your going to have so many great colours in that bunch.
Don't disturb mother hen though as she needs to keep a constant temp over the next few days.

Sorry about your Leghorn.
My Leghorn rooster is the nicest lap rooster. He is so friendly and very tolerant of the dog and cats we have.
I can't wait to see how his offspring turn out.
