Anyone want to hatch with me? - Went in 01/16/14.

2 left to go. One egg filled with some sticky amber fluid and drown while we were sleeping last night and the one hatched right after needed help as it was covered in the sticky amber fluid. He is doing well with the exception that he can't stand or walk easily. 3 hatched after him without any problems. 2 pipped and 4 nothing at all. Hoping the last 2 make it without any problems.

Last 2 hatched without a problem plus one that we had given up hope on!! Yeah! So 16 eggs were shipped. 8 from one person in another state (WI) and 8 from PA. 2 each never developed. Lost 2 more from WI, one didn't fully develop and one didn't reach the air sac. All six shipped from PA made it. The person from pa bubble wrapped and put them in a carton and the person from Wisconsin bubble wrapped in a tube shape. Not sure if it was the quality of the chicks or the shipping. Perhaps just the luck if the draw. I hatched 21 babies and one of which I assisted. Now she is walking much better and I hope she will do great. Oh and funny story about her... she is supposed to be a polish however she was in an off white egg and doesn't have a crest nor look much like a polish... I'll post pics soon. So excited!!!

Beautiful chicks!
I am on day 14, 11 eggs look great, one egg has double air cells one on each end! It doesn't look good for it! I am going to put it in an incubator by itself and see if I can save it! I am trying to find information about it. If it made it to day 14 surely it has a chance! It is my silkie partidge!
Congratulations on all of your guys chicks! I can't wait... next weekend is my hatch day! I'll post pictures!

Thanks! One of mine had double air sac as well. It didn't get into position.

I just set 12 more eggs, adding to my first batch of now 14 eggs(out of 17, 3 were not fertile- all from the same hen. Has since been laying fertile). There are 26 eggs in my coolerbator, due a week apart. This is my first staggered hatch and my plan is that after the first set hatch I'll take all the eggs out and wipe down the cooler with a bleach solution and let it air out for an hour. My broody hen would get off her nest for an hour or more when the weather was nice. So I think it will be ok. They will be on day 14/16 and will also be generating some of their own heat.

Any suggestions or input? Making another coolerbator (hatcher) is already on the to-do list, I just haven't gotten all the parts.

I candled my bcm and brahmas, gl and b/p, and not too many look good, mostly clear. Opened up clear ones and the yolks were not even intact, do y'all think that is the p.o. shaking them or something? Down to 7 gold laced Brahma, maybe 2 were ??. 7 possible buff/partridge brahmas, 3 ??. And only 6 bcm with 3 ???. I started with 32, that is not looking good. Hoping the ones who did look good are super strong.

So we have 30 or so eggs in lock down, 2 are silkies. I have a brooder box with 3 large barn yard chicks that are one week old. do I need to make a sepperate brooder box or can they all go in the same brooder box? do I have to sepperate them? How about small chicks like silkies and very large chicks like Black Jersey Giant and Orpington off spring.

OT We received 3 Peking ducks, 3 weeks old, today.
