Anyone want to help me with my predator attacks on my sheep flock?

Your best bet is to invest in a livestock guardian dog. Occasionally you can even find a fully trained adult who is out of a job because his flock was sold. There is a Boer breeder not too far from me who occasionally has one of those dogs available. Unfortunately, I have forgotten his name but I may be able to find it.

I don't know what got yours, but a friend of mine lost all her sheep to a mountain lion. They can easily clear a six foot fence, so I suspect that may be your culprit. Sorry for your loss. She also decided not to get any more.

Don't you pretty much need two?? Reason i ask is i have "heard" if more than one predator is coming in they will distract a singular LGD..

Oh gosh that is awful! while we do have ML around here generally, they are not around in this exact area ..

My remaining ewe is healing well(thank goodness) but her throat has all the markings of a coyote or wolf kill i am very certain it was one or the other but what i don't understand is attacking more than one?

The gist i always got was they come in take one out, eat and leave.

Sympathize completely with your friend, i don't know what to do myself. I worry about adding more but my poor ewe is alone which is 100% wrong. The only other heard, flock are the horses which... are meh on sheep to begin with.

I hear that llamas can be good for protecting other livestock.
I don’t know that Lammas protect but they are very loud and will alert you when danger is near. I have heard donkey will fight off a predator. I’ve never had one so I don’t know for sure but several people who lived around me have donkeys for livestock protection

Donkey's seem to come up as a mixed bag, was speaking with another shepherd and they felt the same way, going to try some electric netting fence come spring.
