Anyone with Eggs hacthing around Nov.19th

Mine are due on the 17th. Tomorrow is day 18. I think I already removed any clear eggs and all but a few of th ones left had swimmers. A couple were doubtful, but i kept them, just in case. I think I am going to wait until day 19 to raise the humidiy because these are my marans eggs and I have head that they don't loses moisture s quickly as other eggs. I am going to keep the humidity betwwen 55 and 60,so wish me luck. I have been having rotten hatches this year,so what do i have to loses b changing it a little?

I candled as well and it looks like I 'MAY' be down another duck egg. One looks way to underdeveloped from where it should be, but I'm not giving up on it just yet. I put it back under mama hen. 2 eggs are good and dark and full. Hatching can start as early as monday.

Today is day 23

(I'm getting conflicts on them hatching in 28 days or 30 days... so either monday or wenesday)

Ooops - tomorrow they are due. Thanks for checking the calendar for me. LOL

Still I want to see some moving or at least hear something. I need some reassurance. I am afraid to touch them so I don't mess up their positioning. I'll keep talking to them and trying to encourage them. Even if I feel like I am talking to...........a bunch of eggs in a bator.

No problem, didn't want you freaking and trying to help when it was too early still! I don't see mine moving that much either. Every once in a while, but usually it's after they have already pipped. Probably cause the bator is in a different room, and I don't watch it like a hawk anymore. At least not as much as I did when I first got it! It has lost some of it's newness finally!

Hope your babies hatch for you!

What types of marans do you have? I am looking into getting some, and since you aren't that far away I would really rather get some close by. I am on a list for some black coppers this spring but they are in Texas I believe? Maybe Georgia, don't remember!! bargain's is the list I am on, if you know where they're from!

It always seems like when you get close to the hatch date you start going nuts. I am sure they will do fine. I talk to mine to so don't feel crazy.

I'm feeling you right now... I keep looking around the house trying to come up with something I can use as a brooder in case the mama ducky baby thing doesn't work out so well. Makes me nervous.

We're having nesting syndrome! LOL

Just a quick question...Is the pipping loud enough to hear easily? I haven't heard any (I am now going into the room with the bator only about 5 times a day). This is my first hatch and suddenly wonder if I would hear anything.

You mean the peeping? If the shell is pipped then you should be able to hear them. If they aren't pipped yet, the only time I ever hear them is if the bator is open, and then not even that much. Maybe once or twice.
