I would love to join!!! I have a hatch day of October 22.
I set 12 eggs from our flock and pitched 5 banty eggs due to them being clear (broke them open to make sure) on day 10. The eggs that are left, 4 are in question, 1 I believe has a blood ring and 2 are thriving as of 10 days. I'm trying the dry incubation and egg carton methods. We shall see how it goes.

What were your findings? I had to toss out 3 more eggs tonight and after cracking the 3 open, they ended up being clear. Ughhh, 8 clear and 4 that are looking good. Fingers and toss crossed that those 4 make it!
I have a question for the group about lock down. I set 4 eggs at 11:30pm on 9/26 and 10 eggs at 7:15pm on 9/27. Now based on what I have read from everyone you start counting day 1 as the next day after you set your eggs. Now based on that I would lock down 4 eggs as of tomorrow night and the remaining 6 eggs on Saturday evening. Now since all of the eggs are in the same incubator should I lock down tomorrow morning, tomorrow evening or Saturday evening? What do you think?
I set 7 eggs under my broody dark cornish banty on the 4th.. This is my first ever hatch and I swear I can barely contain myself..lol
Here is my little mama
Her new "hopefuls" (5 of the 7)
Her getting the hopefuls (I swear she was like the more the merrier..lol)
Here are (some) of the hopefuls Real Parents... got them off a sweet lady on craigslist!!
Hi, I would like to join too. I put 50 eggs in bater on 9/26 and 5 more in on 10/4, but mine are ring-neck pheasant eggs and take 23-24 days to hatch. So they should start the 19th. In my previous 3 hatches, I had a few that didn't hatch until 26+ days, but chicks were fine. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately), I can't candle the eggs because they are a dark green and too dense to see anything. I haven't had extremely good luck, but I think my humidity was too high. I followed the instructions that came with the incubator.
The third time, I took out the turner and turned by hand and had much better luck, although only about 30% made it. I don't know what I will do if I get a much higher %, I'll have chicks everywhere! Looking forward to seeing all your new chicks.
