I would go outside just as it was getting dark to feed my broody- that way I could candle quickly with a flashlight while she was eating and it was dark enough to still be able to see something inside the egg.

I saw some movent at the base of the air cell last night when I turned my eggs.. they are due on Saturday ( friday in the USA.) So its getting closer now for me too...

I had to have a peak when I got home...Now I can see movement at the bottom of two eggs... Lock down is 50 hours away for me now!!!!!!!!

oooo congrats, how exciting!! I can see beaks in all of mine, they're all making shadow puppets in there! I don't think they're through the membrane into the air cells yet (one I'm not sure of) Tomorrow's supposed to be lockdown but mine might have run a little warm, so I put down my shelf liner and upped my humidity just in case.

My 3 4-week-olds are loving their outside days!! can't wait to get their pen finished this week!

Just thought I'd update:

I had two wood ducks hatch: a regular and a silver!

I currently have 7 ringed teal eggs in lockdown, with one pip this morning. Also, I have 2 mandarin eggs almost in lockdown.

Lockdown already?? It so close for you now..

It was just over a week ago that I had beaks in the air sacs - I love that stage....I love the shaddow puppet reference...thats so cute.
I havent hatched ducklings so close together before... I am only keeping one form the first lot to grow out...I wonder how many I will have from these next ones about to hatch. All the eggs but one ( the big one ) were from my Cinnamon girls...I cant wait to see them- And I will soon ned some more pens myself.
