I give the chickens the ACV every so often (once a month to once a week) as i see fit. Just a good all around internal cleaning from what I understand. Birds don' seem to mind at all. I go APPOX 10 to 1. Or 4 oz for a 3 gal water pail.

I just wanted to report that I found Bragg's brand organic apple cider vinegar at GNC today. I bought the bigger bottle (I think it's a quart) for $5.99.

SheliaV, thanks for the confirmation. I was told this also by a grocer, but got taken to task a few post back because I posted the same statement.
It might be made from apples, but it is still only white vinegar that has pasteurized and does not have the benefits of the organic ACV. As I stated before,
Kroger has Braggs in their health food section. Do not buy what is called Apple Cider Vinegar from the vinegar section unless you are pickling boiled eggs.
It is pretty good for that.

I use a splash of household bleach in my waterers. Keeps the water clean and clear and cuts down on spreading diseases between chickens and the visiting wild birds too.

Please let me know if you can remember your source because I would like to read this book. I bought Bragg a few days ago after subscribing to this topic for my chickens. I tried the Bragg ACV cocktail and thought it was delightful. Maybe it was placebo but I did feel like I had more energy. If nothing else you are replenishing potassium which is hard to get in your diet.
