so over the last 3 weeks at least 1 of my daughters has woke up late and missed the bus. Isn't all that bad except I live at they very furtherst end of the school district in another town. So taking DD to school kinda made me grumpy to begin with. So as I am walking up our walkway to the house I notice that for once she remembered to turn off her lights upstairs....... But.........

Her upstairs windows was cracked 8" and I go up there and the thermostat is cranked to the 9's and DD had takin my younger son's space heater and had that plugged in and cranked as well.

I feel like I am raising fools from the mob squad sometimes. And the whole open window when it's 10 degrees outside this morning thing has me baffled.... I told both DD's that next time they miss the bus they'll be sorry. What do you think?

and I hit the wrong button and didn't get to add the rest... oh well

I was going to add something silly and goofy.

One advantage of being my age is that I don't have to deal with those kinds of problems anymore. If the kids want to waste electicity it's on their dime.

Keep in mind I have no children so I technically have no right to be in on this poll, but I voted anyhow.

I'm feeling rebellious...

I voted take away their tv, computer, and the phone for the day. If it happens again, then ground them.

Then again, I shouldn't even be in this thread so.....

The other options I was going to add -

Scraping Chicken Poo off the front porch
Cleaning the dog run with a pair of surgical gloves
Calling each of their guy friends and explain because of the cold sore issues, they wouldn't be around for a bit
Pick them up from school in my big van and be as embarassing as possible

ohhhh..the days! I had the same problem with my oldest daughter..she would miss the bus even if she got up on time..we only lived 2-3 miles from the school but I had a new baby to have to get up dressed, etc..this was before every teen had a cell phone but I restricted the house phone for a few days..it helped..some..a few months later she had her drivers permit...........another story!!

The open window recently with same daughter....and HER teenage son..his attempt to smoke in the house at night and not get caught..didn't work!!

I'll keep you in my prayers Boyd....my last one will be 19 this week...finally!!..
