I am so happy for you!!!! I candled all my americauna's a little while ago and while in some I can see veins and a mass.......I have no movememnt. I have one light brown egg that I can see right tru and it has veins and a little dark sac, but no movemment and its very small. I think all of mine have either stoped developing or are dead :-( I would have expected to see more on day 8.

I have two EE (green) eggs and one is showing movement. The other one has no veins and no signs that it was at all fertile.

I have 14 dark welsummer eggs and well, I can't see any movement and I haven't candled them all... just a few. One for sure has veins but no movement that I can see. So, it's a wait and see for most of them.

Welcome to my personal hell!!! I am thinking of moving mine to the basement. Its cold, but Im told its always one temp. How on earth I will obsess over it then, I don't know.

I am pretty sure the 'tower' that I got (standard equipt for my incubator) was interfereing with the temperature. I will add it back when (if) the eggs hatch so the chicks won't touch the light bulb. I am using a borrowed incubator that the tower was missing from... So, I think I got the issue under control... if I didn't kill them already.

Dark eggs are hard to candle. I'm going to try to leave them alone for a bit.

Good luck Art. It's hard not to obsess over them.
