Thank you!!! These are really cute!
I love the eggs underneath.

At long last one of our seven has gotten off the pot. The shiny egg is a fake. We think Annie or Lucy our RIRs, are the likely non-slacker. All seven hatched on or about 4/24. The Easter Egger is close. The white plymouth rocks, BO and the Brahma, could still be a while. View attachment 1135872 View attachment 1135873
Congrats to you!
Btw I love how your ladies have a poolside view & deck! Sweet

they look cute. I think I am most excited about the cuckoo marans laying. I had one tiny egg yesterday. Could be a new hen, but I think it was my BO, Franchese. No confirmed lays. But they are not being let out so if the April chicks are laying. We shall know in the next day or two.

6/7 today, Ester took a day off. Just the one 7/7 so far.
So as it turns out I have become a crazy chicken person, or so it would seem if you were at the grocery store today and when I reached into my shirt pocket for cash I found the egg I had put in there this morning to carry in the house... I felt it and was thinking, I wonder if the cashier will think I am an egg thief? So I went for the wallet and used my debit card instead, lol.

We still only have eight payin the rents here out of sixteen. Four whities, two brownies and three greenies... i did say eight and the math doesnt work out i know.. but only one three greenie day we had so far. So i dunno if maybe the factory had a blip the first few times maybe or we just missed one greenie the day before. Dumb freeloadin other half! But!

We do have five new tinny lil cutie pie buns! Four blacks and a white w black spots. Their wee teefs are just too cute! :celebrate:love. We first saw them the 11th... they were either born the day before or the night before we think (buns are in a colony not hutches)... cause that mornin mama (first timer) was pullin fur like nobodies business... but those buns were very dry an hour later when we moved them into a nest box. But she is bein a great bun maman and they are growin like lil weeds.

Today we are goin to chickenstock.. and it is gonna be HARD not to come home with a few new chicklets or turkeys! Hubby wants a trio of meat buns though so that is what we are in the hunt for... maybe i can sweet talk him into some hatchin eggs? :lau:lau:lau:hugs

Ha! Very funny....hopefully you won't accidentally put an egg in the washing machine....I've done that with green beans, we have so many including all along the chicken run, and I pick them throughout the day. I've had both green beans AND eggs in my pockets, but I've never forgotten an egg in my pocket...Not yet anyway, lol.

I got 3/6 yesterday. I am assuming that I won't have a chance of all laying on same day until next year. The broody probably won't lay again until chicks are weaned, and by then the days will be very short. Ha, I'm counting my chickens before they hatch....anyway, there were such nest politics going on that I was afraid those rowdy leghorn girls were going to jump down into Moonshine's nest and break the tiny eggs. She leaves the nest once a day to eat, drink, and poop....and take a dust bath. The others are aware of this window of opportunity.... I have happened to be there each time and fend off the trespassers, but that's stressful, waiting for her to hop back in that milk crate. So I took advice given on other threads and partitioned the corner of the coop, so the broody has her own private apartment. She can't go outside anymore. But oh well. It's not worth the risk.

Well the egg held up fine in my pocket, a thin shelled store egg would have broke for sure!
