April 2017 chicks, who will lay first contest...

Chickenstock was EVIL! We were good... and ONLY brought home two bantam barred rocks.... . The idea behind the madness... the littles.. two polish bantams that we were told were reg sized need friends to play with. . Yep... that is our story and we are stickin to it!

Then. Buns... we came home with four new zealands two each bucks and does... one doe is too young to breed and the other bred. One male will be dinner this week and the older one is our breeder boy.

And. Eight ladies paid rent today.

Oh buns! Lady said the one lady was bred two weeks ago... so that puts us with two weeks left right? RONG! Lady is pullin fur. . Hubby is buildin a nest box TODAY lol! So i guess we mebbe havin more buns in a few days. I just hope that the stress of her day yesterday isnt makin her abort them. Then i would feel like an ass... but it really wouldnt be our fault cause the dolts brought her to the thinger did it.... and i was wrong on breeds... we have two pairs californian and new zealand.

Ok. So yay! New bun NOT pullin fur for babies... the stranger danger male got in her side.... and she tried debean him. Oye! But all is well. He just has a small hickey on it. On the other bun side... we have five new kits. .

Yesterday was another eight egg day. And when i got out to do my chicken chores of an afternoon i have caught a lil lady playin and layin in the nest box and leavin me no prizes for the last two days. So soon another rent payer.

still just one egg a day and unfortunately my BA that was looking like she was going to be the next one just got taken from us this sometime in the night so count is now 1/5

I have gone from having 2 BA to 1 BA to no BA

So we have had no new layers while on vacation. They were penned up all day so that kills the theory they might have been laying in the brush. So on to watching again. 0/8

Oh gosh, sorry to hear.....Do you have the survivors protected in a secure coop at night?

Not secured enough apparently but I have a close friend coming tomorrow to help me fix the problem I didn't build the coop my mom had one of her friends make it but they didnt take care of any of my concerns they just made it look like they did thats why I can't wait to move my but I asked a friend to help me he has had chickens for a while so I figured he would be the best one suited to help me deal with my problem

Do you think she is a Wyandotte with this color of egg. I though she would have a brownish color not this grey/green. Not complaining love that it's colored
