Oh I forgot to say that I still have 3 others that have not laid yet, only one other just started to squat.
They are 23 weeks
hmmm should I open it? Not sure what I was going to do with it. Wasn't going to eat it and I didn't want to leave it there.

You could cook it and feed it to the chickens.....

Finally, Had a big squawker outside today so I went out to find out what the fuss was. Wanted to make sure that no one was getting bullied.
Then thought it was a egg sqwuak and thought she did it in the play house


Went to clean out the coop, Low and behold there was an egg on the Poop Board ! View attachment 1142841

Btw can you post a pic of your playhouse? I'm trying to convert a plastic little tikes playhouse into something for the ladies & looking for ideas.

I heard one of the leghorns sing the egg song, and came in to see her leaving the nest with this tiny white egg in it....I have never seen one of these 'fairy eggs' or 'fart eggs' before, but read about them in other threads. I opened it and sure enuf, no yolk!

Oooooo I've never seen one of those! That's fascinating! Are there any myths or old wives tales or superstitions about them?

We found one more prize in the nest box today. So that puts us at 10/17. . Almost to a dozen a day. What am i gonna DO with all these eggs. Hahahahah! I think i may take some to the campground round the corner and see if the lady will let them sit on her counter to sell em when i start gettin a lil more than a full dozen a day.

Oh! Took the bandage off Cletis the tom turkey's foot for the last time today. Iit looks all nice n pretty down there. And he has decided that it is OK for snuggles and pettin... only aat night when he is a sleepy boy. Yay! Tonight hubby let him loose and he just stood there for a good minute andd let me scratch him and pet him. Thiss makes my heart happy so very happy! A month ago he still woulda bein goin nutso aat touchin of any kind by us. But he was moree than happy to fuss at latte watermelon.

I'm moving all 9 chickens to their new coop tonight at dusk then keep them locked in there for a week before I let them out into their new yard. I'll bet I don't get any eggs for a few days *sigh*

It has blood on it. Hope that's just because it's her first egg? Feel bad for her. Must've been painful.
Poor dear stayed in the nest box for about 2 hours & looked shocked when we finally opened up to see if she was ok in there.
Should I put antibiotic or anything on her vent?

I got a couple w blood on them....didn't do anything. The amt is so tiny, and it's likely an internal micro sized tear...

Our Welsummer, Clover, started laying two days ago. That means we now have 4 laying. We are still waiting for our Black Australorp and Buckeye to start laying.
