April 2020 Hatch-A-Long! All are welcome!

So this little gal has been externally pipped since yesterday evening but made no additional progress. I decided to go ahead and remove some of the shell and she was pretty shrink wrapped. Not sure why this happened because everything looked pretty spot on with humidity and temp. I’ve also had others pip and zip all while this one has been just sitting. Any idea if she is malpositioned? Or maybe just an issue because she’s from a shipped egg?

Wow, if you were able to remove all of that membrane and there wasn't any blood at all I would imagine it's ready to hatch. If she's worn out from waiting so long you may need to finish taking that little piece of shell from underneath that is preventing her from pushing the rest of the way out.

I'm on my phone and I can't blow up the image but if her head isn't tucked under her wing that is a malposition, head over wing. Shipped eggs always have an increased possibility of issues no matter what we do correctly though.

She actually just popped out! There was no blood where I removed the shell around the air cell. There was a small amount of blood in the bottom of the shell. But I can’t tell why or where it came from. She’s tiny but otherwise looks good. Yolk was completely absorbed. Belly button looks okay. 🤷🏽‍♀️ She is a bantam but she’s definitely smaller than the rest! A tube of chapstick for reference.

Aww, she's adorable! I'm glad she popped out ok! Good job helping! If it was just a little bit of blood in the bottom it may have been from the navel. You'll occasionally see a little blood. I hope she perks right up after some rest.

Just found this group! I have a hatch due this weekend. I set 11 barnyard mix eggs and all 11 were fertile 🤪. We’ve got some busy Roos. I’m so excited because last hatch I had 5/7 hatch. Hoping for another good hatch rate 🤞. Locked down tonight (day 17.5) because my bantams like to hatch on day 19. Can’t wait to see what I get this time. Last hatch had 4 OEGB, and one Ameracauna/jersey giant mix. Turns out he’s a roo (or at least I’m pretty sure he is) but super sweet. He’s my new buddy ❤️

Okay yesterday when I checked, it was day 12 and they still look like floating yolks with no veins. I’m just scared to take anything out “just in case” but it should be safe now by day 12 right if I don’t see any veins?

After looking up images of a blood ring, it doesn’t look quite like that. It looks like veins maybe a little big... but not covering the entire egg. I’ll see if I can get a picture tonight.

Thanks for the help everyone!
If you haven't seen any development by D12 it is safe to take them out. You really don't want them to start going bad in there!

If you post a picture or video (YouTube link) of what you're seeing it will help other people assess :).
