In lieu of making a thread over in the emergencies area, I'm just going to ask here because it's not really a big emergency and I don't want to bog that forum down.
I have some friends that are first timers. They ordered their chicks from their feed store, so they were shipped to the store and that's where they picked them up. They have one runty chick that pretty much immediately had pasty butt and now has a prolapsed vent. They've been giving water, pedialyte, mashed food, yogurt, and a little bit of olive oil through a dropper. She is not pooping, but has passed urates and clear liquid. They said her crop is super full/swollen. I advised to let her work on emptying her crop and work on getting her vent less swollen so they can fix the prolapse. They went to get some preparation H, and I know sugar paste is another popular treatment.
Am I missing anything?
They are super worried about their little Rosie ❤
