Since she just hatched it's probably not wry neck. This occasionally happens with a chick that just hatched. There is an area on the back of their necks that fills with fluid for hatching and when this is slower to go down those chicks have a tendency to flip over more often. If you find she gets stuck on her back for more than a couple hours repeatedly, you can take her out and hold her in the correct position. If the head is still curved backwards while you're doing this then it may be wry neck.
She seems to be doing better. I put her and her 3 friends in the brooder. Dipped a qtip in the vitamins and pressed it to her beak. Hard to tell how much she took but it was something. She hasn’t flopped on her back anymore. But she also hasnt been walking all that much.

Well that's great! Hopefully it was just the hatching muscle then!

This brooding phase is totally new to me as we’ve always used our broody hen in the past. I’ve got two different heat sources in there. A brooding plate and a heat lamp. The brooder plate is only reading 85 degrees under it. And the heat lamp is at 102 directly underneath. They’re quite at the moment so I’ll take that as they’re happy? 🤷🏽‍♀️

Just be careful not to overheat them. They need an area to get away from the heat source just as much as they need the heat source. I personally only use a heat plate, I love them! The first couple of days after hatch the chicks sleep a lot, especially the first 24 hours so that's to be expected!

Hi all!
I've been lurking on BYC for awhile and am finally posting my hatch! This is my second, from a hidden cache I found in March. Right now there are 8 eggs, 5 have pipped since 4 am. I am so excited to see my little April fools!

Welcome! I hope you'll share peep pictures once they hatch!

Have you ever put a thermometer under your heat plate to see what the temp is? Just curious if mine is indeed too cold. They have a huge brooder (thanks to my hubby). Is 4x3x2 tall. So there’s plenty of room to roam! 😬
