April 2020 Hatch-A-Long! All are welcome!

Pics
Today is day 21 for my 8 out of 24 shipped eggs that made it to lockdown. No pips yet. ☹

What day did you set them? Are you sure it's day 21? Also the time of day you set them will change when you see pips. It's not always like clockwork like we want it to be. Fingers crossed!

Thanks

I just double checked, it’s exactly 21 days and 4 hours. My others (non shipped, incubated together) pipped late day 20 and were out day 21 with no issues so I’m pretty confident temp and humidity are fine.

I know they can be late sometimes but I have a feeling they’re dead. This is my 2nd attempt with shipped eggs with abysmal success. I got one live chick from the last lot but he doesn’t look ‘right’ to me. He’s 5 days old now and kind of waddles on his hocks rather than stands up.

Hello all! Can't wait to see everyone's fluffy babies! I bought Welsummer and OEs off ebay and the same day the were delivered, my new momma went broody and is sitting on 7 eggs. Hatch day for everyone is the 21-23.

Hey everyone! I put my bielefelder egg in my incubator about 7 hours ago and I’m very exited since this is my first ever fertile chicken egg! It is nice and warm and has enough humidity in it, don’t have to worry about the humidity since my incubator make its own climate that will be right for the egg, but I can’t wait to ask questions so I can learn more😁

Welcome! What kind of incubator are you using?

You do definitely want to wait until her demeanor really seems committed though. I have a psycho broody that has been acting broody for longer than my proven broody hen...I may never give this Frosted Legbar chicks, she's nuts, lol. We'll see if she chills out by the time I give my proven broody chicks on Easter.

Thanks so much! I’m gonna give her a few days and see how birdzilla does 🙃
