@CluckNDoodle and anyone with broodies.... if I have eggs under the broody and my friend has eggs hatching one day earlier, can I toss a couple of those one day old chicks in with her when her hatch is done?
The look on Scrabble's face in the second picture kills me! He looks like he's questioning all his life-choices that led him to this moment!I have a hen with a pendulous crop. I just found out about chicken bras tonight from another member of Backyard Chickens. I was going to buy one on line but it was going to be $40 after shipping and take a month, so I got out a little tiny hotel sewing kit and an old tensor bandage my kids play doctor with and made one. I made a racer back version... Tried it on my huge maine coon cat- figured if it fits him, I should be able to get it on her.

Well now I can because I have another incubator.I thought you were done with hatching ducks!!!
My broody has the same due date!
They should be just fine! I try and reduce faster than that and monitor the particular group. If they huddle together they can lose heat even faster.
Lol I love it! I have had good luck with pendulous crop resolving if caught early!
I'd say you picked a winner--hold onto him--definitely a keeper, that man.Husband bought me the identical incubator i already have instead of the cheap one. It's all set up and ready to go
I'm getting duck eggs again to hatch for a friend. I should get them sometime this week.

Winner winner (if I make him chicken dinner)I'd say you picked a winner--hold onto him--definitely a keeper, that man.![]()
Did you figure out your turner? I *think* they recommend that the fat end faces the center, but you should watch to make sure that they are turning properly. If any of them aren't turning, you can face them the other way and that should help. The only thing I don't like about my brinsea is the turner. The way they've designed it makes it hard to turn any egg that isn't a perfectly shaped, standard large egg.I didn't have my turner in until today because I had an extra egg in there since it only holds 7 and the breeder gave me 8. I had been hand turning them 3x a day though. My turner is just on its side and rotates. Thank you for your help!
Thank you! I'm glad it's hopefully not something I did... I have been monitoring the temps and humidity like crazy... I would feel terrible if it was me.
My day ran long and I did not make it out to put chickens in before dark. I went out and the chickens were making quite a ruckus. When I got there, there were red feathers all over the ground in front of the door. Checked and all my red birds were there. Then looked to make sure everyone else was there.....and my/my daughters little black silkie roo was gone. Looked outside and noticed a trail of fluffy black feathers going part way through the day run.

I looked all through the pen multiple times and couldn't find him. He always brightened my day...he was such a little ham and so inquisitive. He was always right there next to me seeing what I was doing or chasing this girlfriend (frizzle tolbunt polish) around. He was only about 6 months old and just had the best personality. My daughter was crushed! Why do the bad things always happen to your favorites? Hopefully the silkie eggs in the hatcher produce some nice silkies with just as much personality. Have 3 pipped out of 6 right now. All 6 had movement when I candled this morning, so really crossing my fingers for a good hatch.@jolenesdad what type of chicken is your avatar?I thought you were done with hatching ducks!!!
