Ok I split the difference!
I didnt candle last night day 6,
But I did this morning day 7 rather than waiting til tonight!
Out of 16...
2 looked to be either unfertilr or too old
7 look perfect shaping up very well!
7 showed signs of veining but not as developed as the other 7...so will keep an eye on them and in the separate incubator.
I could tell the air cells of the worst ones did not look too badly at all. Of course those are in the 7 that aren't forming as well. But 1 in that group is a perfect one!
Time will tell!
I'm like a kid at Christmas with the candling. I just can't help myself! I've been pulling my goose eggs out to mist and cool, so I just do it then. My shipped eggs should be arriving today, hopefully in good shape and not frozen. My second incubator is also on it's way and due to arrive today. I just bought a second cheap Amazon one, but once you get the hang maintaining temp and hum, it works pretty well. Those eggs I'll try to leave alone for long enough to get a good start.

If I have any that don't hatch I will open them, and post pics. View attachment 3042736Sorry If I confused anyone, I was NOT asking if my egg was a double or not. And I have been hatching more than 20 years...so.
I'm sorry if my reply was rude somehow, I didn't intend it to be and it didn't sound offensive to me.
You said you had like six twin eggs. I was just saying that that's not very likely, and that even in big eggs the embryo appears stretched out and can look like twins. I could see there being a couple double yolkers, but six just seems very rare.
I’m doing really well! How are you? I got those FBCM eggs from Heartland Hatchery down by Huron. I’ve heard good things about them so far.
How did you all fair through this last storm?
That's great! I'm doing good too.
Oh awesome! Do you get eggs or chicks? I've read about them some too, I might get some chicks from them in the future. I'd rather support them than TSC.
Well, we just got a big snow dump yesterday. Other than that, we've been ok. I wish it would just warm up already. My birds have been on breeder feed for several weeks already, and I figured it'd be warmer by now so they could start nesting. But, apparently not. Lol.

Hi Everyone!!:frow
Day 22 for my waterfowl eggs and Day 1 for my chicken eggs! I put 18 chicken eggs into my second incubator today, it’s a bit crowded but I’ll split them after the others hatch. One of the BCM eggs I received is tiny (1.4oz), no clue if an egg that small would hatch. They’re also not nearly as dark as I was expecting either.

I’m a little concerned about air cell size of my goose eggs, seems a bit small yet but maybe they’ll grow faster closer to lockdown. Humidity has been good, usually between 45-50% and so have been misting and cooling daily.

And then there is my wee duck egg. It was only 2.2oz. It’s air cell seems huge! If it hatches, I suspect it will be on day 27 or 28.

This isn’t my first post about my mystery eggs, but I have seven on day eleven. 🤞🏼 all hatch. There were originally nine. I’m excited seeing as how it’s my first hatch and I have no idea what is hatching. I’m certain they’re chicken eggs though😆

My broody buff orphington is sitting on them. Poor thing has been broody since Valentine’s Day. I tried breaking her and had no luck. Then came my sister with fertilized eggs she found. Figured why not, but just hope my hen makes out okay. Still eating, drinking, and going to the bathroom.

Pics are a couple from day 7. Lots of movement now!

My Fielder Farms eggs from AL came a day early! Whoohoo...but not too happy with the USPS. Clearly paid extra for the special handling, the PO forgot to place the fragile tape...then they failed to hold at PO like they were supposed to and call me. We did this back in November and had no problems.
I heard a big thump at the door...my eggs! Wow. .so much for
"Handle with care live eggs inside!"
Ugh, I had an issue with USPS and my eggs too. First of all, we paid for 2 day air, right? Well they were shipped from OH on 3/21 and arrived on 3/28!! SO grumpy. Then, my mailman delivered the box and it clearly said in several places - THIS SIDE UP, LIVE EMBRYOS, FRAGILE. And how was it sitting on my porch? SIDEWAYS. It's very simple...I get that they have a lot of houses to visit, but man so annoying. They were very well packaged thankfully, but like my other shipped eggs all air cells were detached and now many are saddled...I had to up my humidity too because some of the air cells have already gotten rather large and I don't want them to run out of room! Blah, it is what it is and I know that is part of the deal--doesn't make me less annoyed though :p
