How exciting, yes count me in:

I have 9 adult hens and some in the brooder (hoping mostly hens!) They free range most of the time on our 10 acres but are cooped for safety at night. All the adults have names, but the brooding chicks will wait till they make their appearance in the real world.

wow !! what a fantastic idea!!!!

I am interested in this program!
4 hens
Blondie... Hiline Brown
Ethel.....Hiline Brown
Mertle...hiline Brown
Marg......Lavendar Ameraucana
All of my hens are 1 year old
will have more hens later in the season
No roosters all are free range
I collect on average 28 eggs a week

I am very interested but wondering if each state is going to participate. If Colorado is I am interested. Also concerned if it is able to reach out to the rural areas or small towns that are not close to the bigger cities. How to we know where the zone leader is located from?

I currently have these hens that are laying and meet the requirements:

5 EE's
10 BA's
10 SS
9 SLW

I have been getting about 6 dozen eggs a week and that number keeps rising as the weather warms up!

I have Olive eggers, Marans, Leghorns, and Ameraucanas that in about 5 months will be laying and contributing to my Rainbow egg basket!!

This is such a good idea!

It's all marketing

Named chickens ARE happy chickens.

You are just jealous we aren't doing this in Canada yet.

I've been trying to name my chickens but it's hard to name 10 RIR's. I have a cock no problem naming him. I have a rescued dominique no problem naming her. The other 10 hen's are named baby. So, when I call baby the whole flock comes. Guess, that's acceptable.

though I'm not interested, this is really a great program and can see quite a trend and expansion launching from it - this site and its moderators are truly awesome!

This sounds really great. I am VERY new to the whole chicken thing. As a matter of fact my chicks will not be here until April 27th. Right now I only have the 1 duckling and not even sure yet if it's a drake or duck.

I have thought about selling eggs locally but am actually afraid to because of all the CRAZY, SUE happy people in the world.

I am assuming that we do not have to have a license to sell the eggs? Do we have to be a "business"? (sorry for the dumb questions) Like I said, stupid, money hungery people who LOVE taking someone to court, scare the "tail feathers" off me.

I don't know if I would even qualify since I am just starting out. Can we join at any time or is it just a now kinda thing?

Again, sorry for the questions. I'm a very "careful" person (sometimes too much so)

Count us in. We are in Central Oklahoma.

My question is about state egg laws though. Any feed back on that yet? or did I miss it in the thread?

8 Happy(named) hens and Mr. Cockburn are happy to help produce eggs for their feed bill LOL

They currently produce apx 3.5 dozen a week give or take. Their eggs range from small to double yolkers. Are you looking for a specific grade or size? I need to get an egg scale anyway.

I also have 3 brooders of chicks (32 to be exact). I dono how many are hens but I did buy a few black sex links so I am sure to have a few more

Current coop is good for the established flock and a new cook is in the works for the babies. As far as outside, they have 5 acres (and some of the neighbors land if they are brave) to divide up as they wish (free range haha)
