APRIL FOOLS HATCH, give or take a day.....who's in ??

Ok, so this hatch is so far going better than my first one!

I see veining in at least 11 out of 13 eggs on day 5. I thought I could hold out till day 18, but they kept calling to me....

Now I can wait and toss the ones that are clear or have quit at lockdown. She said very confident in her ability to last that long without messing with the eggs....

10 days til lockdown!!! Woo Hoo!!! I'm gonna try candling tonight and see what I've got, here's hoping they're all fertile

yes i'd lockdown as normal, i found it impossible to candle my khaki coloured eggs

you can add another one to the list, I have 23 english orps in the bator. lockdown is april 1st

I candled mine yesterday, we had 27 good eggs, 5 that I couldn't see a thing and 9 I wasn't sure about. The kids and I cracked open the five plus 3 I wasn't sure about. All three were good and one of the 5 was good.

Since we had never candled before we caulked it up to good experience. My 11 year old was fascinated with the developing eggs we broke open, poking and prodding and trying to figure out what was what. I figured even if we lost those four it was a good science lesson for him.

We candled today with my class... we have 11 that look good we saw the viens and lots of movement in most fo them
Took out 5 4 were clear and one I think had I think a blood ring... there was tiny embryo but lots of blood. So we tossed those and I am leaving the rest in. we will probably canlde again on Thursday or Friday before lockdown on Sunday

I am supposed to have 3 dozen eggs hatch out on April fool's day too! Not sure if it will happen or not though. This isn't my first time hatching but it is a new incubator and it is giving me trouble as well as not being able to keep my temps stablized in my house due to using wood heat instead of contant oil heat or something else. Hopefully I get something!! Mine are all mutts from RIR, Buff Orps, CornishX, and Americauna's.

wow ! does the time fly! im already on day 14! woo going to check them tonight and im going to move the 3 day old eggs into my new hovabator! woo its so nice!
