1&2. The way our incubator works is that it has trays inside of it that are hand tilted. They work great as long as you pay attention to how much they are tipped. My mother was in a hurry and tipped it too much causing two of my goose eggs to get out of their containers and fall to the other side. I'm still in the process of finding the other egg. So it went about a foot on a steep slope and crashed into the other side.
3&4. Unfortunately I was not here when it happened and could not get back for another five hours. When I got back I candled it after seeing the extensive damage. I didn't hear any peeping but its not due to hatch until Monday. When it was candled I could see the gosling but I could not see any movement. The main portion of the crack is on the air cell. I sealed up the cracks as best as I could with wax. I don't think its still viable though.
don't panic I've had this happen several time and fingernail polish works to reseal the eggs and I've had no negative effects from using itWith my goslings due on Monday, disaster has struck. My mom went to tilt the eggs and accidentally cracked two of them. I don't know how bad yet because I haven't seen the damage. I am so worried now

. Be careful if you attempt this the co2 given off by hatching ducklings can be lethal to unhatched ducklings plus the drop in humidity every time you open to turn unhatched eggs can cause shrink wrap in the hatching ducklings I'd suggest trying to build a cheap cooler bator to use as a hatcherI have 3 duck eggs due to hatch on April 24th and 23 more due to hatch on May 6th.. They're all in the same incubator and I don't have another one to use as a hatcher.. Is this okay? Can I keep them together and only open the incubator to turn the other eggs? I'll spray the eggs that are hatching with water when I open it. I only turn 3 times a day.. Thanks for the help!![]()
yes my last hatch I dropped one at lock down had about a 4 ft fall to the floor shell was shattered and some missing I made a layer of nail polish along cracks leaving as much shell uncovered as I could so chick could still breath through shell and 2 days later the chick hatched I thought it was a goner but it surprised meYou've hatched out eggs completely fractured all over, even missing some egg shells??? Using nail polish???
