APRIL Hatch a long ......Anyone?

yes my last hatch I dropped one at lock down had about a 4 ft fall to the floor shell was shattered and some missing I made a layer of nail polish along cracks leaving as much shell uncovered as I could so chick could still breath through shell and 2 days later the chick hatched I thought it was a goner but it surprised me

I have three in lock down right now that I dropped before I set them. See...maybe it's not always USPS fault?

Tomorrow is hatch day. This is the first hatch of the year that does not have early pips! I've done four other hatches this year and each time I've had some early birds. This time not a sound from these eggs and they are due tomorrow! The humidity and temp are good and fairly steady and I'm confident that all the eggs I put in the hatcher were viable. Now I have to sit on my hands for three days until the hatch is over!

Does anyone know what the average incubation period is when using a broody hen? If memory serves me right the eggs tend to hatch a couple days sooner than the 21 days on average in a bator. But I can't remember.

remember broodys gather a clutch so they may not sit regular for several days...it's hard to determine exact due date because of that but incubation is technically the same
