Congrats on the pips and hatching, for those lucky enough to be that far along already. Pictures. Please don't forget pictures.
Did my 10 day weigh-in a couple days ago, and all are still progressing as they should. Candled and pulled a couple more blood rings, as well as a few that obviously were not developing. Those few I'm still on the fence about, I left in.
Got my coolerbator up and running, and have the humidity all dialed in. Good thing, have about 2 dozen more eggs coming this week. Woops.
Been out working on the coop, now that the brooder is just about done. I've been really inspired by the coop picture of the week on the main site and am doing something very similar. All I need for the brooder is a lid and just have to pick up some more netting to do so. The brooder area is 4x8, covered in coroplast on the inside so it's easy to wipe down and clean. It can be divided for two separate areas, or one large area. I'll post a shot or two on the post pics of your brooder thread soon. Anyone brood on sand? Seems like it might be the way to go, for me. I'd also provide the chicks with a bin for shavings and another for dirt to dustbathe and play in.
