Get a 5 gallon. Use some alga stopping product, there are a lot avalible. Sounds like a bad algae problem, how is the tank lighting, next to a window?I have a one gallon tank with male Betta. I know that is too small, so as soon as possible, I am going to get a bigger tank.
Question:
How do you keep algae from growing inside the tank? I have to keep changing the water completely and scrubbing everything! The sides get green spots, the rocks turn green, and algae starts growing on the plans and filter.
I had fish once. 10 Black Skirt Tetras, a minnow that was in the tank with the fish that I got for free, a male Beta, and 3 other types of fish I can't remember.Get a 5 gallon. There is a light in there that came with it. It isn't right next to a window, but in the morning the sun does shine in some. The algae seems to grow a lot when it's really hot. We don't have AC installed at the moment, so the house is hot. I recently changed all the water, and it hasn't grown back yet, but hasn't been terribly hot. It has grown back twice though... Thanks for the advice! I will look into that.Get a 5 gallon. Use some alga stopping product, there are a lot avalible. Sounds like a bad algae problem, how is the tank lighting, next to a window?
I do have fish, though I have downsized in the last year from a high of 11 tanks down to 3. A tropical 55, and a 75 and a 125 for my goldfish. I have 13 out in my small stone pond during summer, they go into the 125 and the 15 smaller ones go back into the 75 during the winter and they spend the summer in the 125.I THINK @oldhenlikesdogs has fish. So if true come!
Hey everyone! Anyone here ever heard of the Twinstar aquarium water sterilizer. I found a super cheap eBay deal for them. (I'm just reccomendjng it, not promoting it).
Supposedly (and accurately according to reviews) it does electrolysis on the water and turns it into hydroxyl radicals, which harm algae, prevent fish disease, promote plants, and reduce bioload. I'm definitely trying it out.
