I've been keeping fish most of my life. I currently have -
1 - 75 gallon West African Biotope tank, planted with various species of Anubias and 1 Synodontis angelicus catfish that I bought as a pup in 1992. I want to restock it with a large school of Congo tetras, once I can find a good source. Someday, I hope to find a nice pair of Nanochromis parilus like I used to have in the 90's.
1 - 55 gallon South American Community tank, with a pair of angels, some Rummy nose tetras, Columbian blue red finned tetras, 4 Corydoras schwartzi, and an albino longfinned Bristle-nosed pleco. (I usually go for fish with their natural, wild type coloration when doing a biotope tank, but I couldn't resist this guy!)
1 - 20 gallon goldfish tank, with 2 Orandas.
I used to have many, many more tanks, and was active with breeding a few species, but when I moved to Maine, I discovered that the laws are rather restrictive as to species here. As such, the aquarium stores mainly carry only bread and butter fish and there are no hobby groups as such. Shame really.
Fish I have bred in the past are Bristle-nosed plecos (Ancistrus sp.), Wrestling halfbeak (Dermogenys pusilla), Turquoise Rainbows (Melanotaenia lacustris), Bosemaini Rainbows (Melanotaenia boesemani), Aphyosemion gardneri, Neolamprologus brichardi "Daffodil", and Cherry barbs (Puntius titteya). I also used to breed Axolotls and Red-eyed treefrogs.
