Not bad eh?

Not bad at all!! I am not familiar with the dam line through Linden Girl, but other than that, Risky's pedigree is actually partially close to my mares.

I thought that when I was looking at their pedigrees. My pictures do not do Risky justice believe me. And after I posted her pedigree I realized she has already turned 27!!!

This thread has really been good for me. I have a Swiss cheese memory and I have really been digging and forcing myself to remember things or digging until I find what I am looking for.

I was internet digging and found some pictures that someone had posted of a sister of Risky's right after I got her. This girl looks a lot more like your girls with the much better photography doing her justice. I wish I had some shots of Risky that look like these. She called her Spice. If I had her full name I would post her pedigree, but I think this lady said she was either a 3/4 or full sister of Risky's.

Here's one of my amusing Arabian horse stories. My girlfriend and I were riding our Arabian stallions side by side in our local hometown Christmas parade. She was in "costume" and I was riding western. (She made her costume with a white bed sheet and a rug.) The boys were doing so well, paying attention to us, minding their manners even though there was a mare directly in front of us that was in season, trying her best to capture their attentions. About halfway through the parade I blew my bit and it was hanging down the side of my boy's face. Instead of the disaster that this could have been, my wonderful boy continued on, finishing the parade like nothing had happened. Oh and did I mention this was his FIRST parade! I was soooo proud of him!!! After finding out that Jennifer and I had ridden stallions in the parade, the lovely parade committee passed a rule that stallions were not permitted in any future parades any longer. We were both hot as pistols over that little ruling. We thought it should have been, no unruly mares that were in heat. But it was one of those, you can't fight city hall, deals. :idunno
My daughter outbid the meatman at a horse sale barn to save a beautiful bay Arabian gelding. When we got him home that night while doing an all-over check for injuries........we discovered he had testicles! What a shock! He turned out to have perfect manners at all times. He was castrated and now owns a little 4H girl who is showing him as a sport horse.

I love it! What a great story!!! Why is it that so many of our gorgeous Arabians end up at the sale barn and we have to outbid the meatman? Do you have any pictures of him enola? We would love to see them if you do!!!

I could ask her, but I doubt she does.......Another divorce ended the careers of several promising young arabians.

She actually saved/rescued several nice arabians like this.
One of them was an NV Congo son..........

Yes, I went through that myself as well.

Was he black? If she has any pictures of any of them, we would love to see!

Here's a picture of NV Congo I pulled from the internet:

Yes, his career is remarkable to say the least! AND fighting cancer to boot.......

To have him helping you and your girls, well all I can say is you have certainly been blessed!!!
Thank you. Yes, I'm very lucky. Larry doesn't work with too many people these days. And the fact that him & Tracy trusted their horses in my care, that's a huge deal for me.

Oh, that's a good one! lol There are so many nice stallions out there. I used to ride this bay breeding stallion, his barn name was Hot Shot...which he was not. lol He was the biggest baby and as sweet as could be! I was quite young then, didn't know much...and I'd ride the horse around the farm bareback with just a halter and leadlines. lol
Even found a very old, poor picture of him! lol

I miss the little guy. I think he passed away when he was in his late 20's. What a great horse he was!

Well there's a fancy girl!

That head shot of her reminded me of Buffy!

Same eye and expression. Spice is more typey, but there's a lot of similarities there, I think!

Probably because the Arabian is a breed that not all people understand. And when you put an Arabian with a person that doesn't understand the breed, the horses get labeled crazy and dangerous...when in reality, the horses are just too smart and people too dumb. And those sorts of horses with those sorts of labels nobody wants...and they get sent to the auctions.

It's the people that should be auctioned off if you ask me... lol

I think that was why my stallion didn't care that the bit fell out, because I rode him most of the time bareback and with a halter and lead rope. He was a fantastic little guy. I loved him so much. I finally found a couple of pictures of him that I will post soon. I have to get them scanned. My kids used to crawl under his belly and between his legs. He just loved all of us as much as we loved him.

Agreed!

My Arab mare is smarter than 95% of the people I know. What people do not understand about Arabs is you cannot FORCE them to do anything! Way too much horse training is based on some sort of force.

Yes, the Arabians are very intelligent as they should be. That's what they were bred to be. And you'll never win a fight with an Arabian. Forcing any animal to do anything and calling that training is just poor behavior in my opinion.
