Araucana thread anyone?

Thanks for the feedback. He doesn't have that green sheen my marans do- but I figured its because he is only 7 weeks old. Maybe in a few more weeks?

So do ameracaunas have slate or white legs? there seems to be some disagreement.

Taken from Ameraucana Breeders Club - which I am a member of. My experiences have been that black will have darkest legs, blue next darkest and then splash tend to have a lighter color like a blue teal (really neat color). True Ameraucana do not have willow. They are a disqualification. Under feet of AM should be white/beige looking.

But this is an Araucana thread 😭.

Hello. Very new to the breed. Eccentric hobbyist here, not a show breeder. Just hatched my first two Araucana last week. They are 10 days today. Looking for breeders in the Southeast with BBR and Golden Duckwing and also to get to know who is breeding what and to learn. I've already pored over a lot of material Online. I also breed CCL and Welsummer. This year beginning with Silverudd's Blue, FBCM and Araucana.

Welcome to the Araucana world.

Hey. My friend hatched out 3 araucanas for me. They are a couple weeks old now and so cute. Only one is tufted. I call him/her Sir Reginald. The other two are Elizabeth and Jane for now. I was interested in this breed because of their unique looks, blue eggs, and rarity. :) I'll probably get another dozen eggs to hatch after a while.
