Araucana thread anyone?

One of my araucana chicks has been on the sickly side. She has a messy bottom and isn't growing like the others. I treated for cocci just in case. She's being raised with a dozen or so other chicks and is the only one like this. Are araucana chicks more sickly than other breeds or is it just this chick? I'm not sure how else I can help her thrive.

Elizabeth the chick. Napping on my lap after I cleaned her up.

Sorry to hear about your chick. Probably just an isolated incident. I don't think Araucanas are any more fragile than other breeds. I've only had 2 "failure to thrive" chicks die out of 100 hatched.

Thanks. I haven't ever had a failure to thrive before and it's been years since I've had any cocci. I gave her some nutradrench in the beak and added it to their water. Hopefully she makes it.

The closest I'm getting is several states away (not surprised honestly) I'm a little worried about eBay just because of how uncommon this breed is now. I'm afraid I'll get EEs or Amerucanas
Breeders will sometimes directly sell you eggs and ship them to you. I'm thinking of getting more eggs from a breeder in Florida. This first batch came from someone in north georgia.

Yeah, I'll probably have to do that now. I have to wait a few weeks to finish my shed anyways since apparently birds aren't allowed in the house anymore

I have recently saved my friend's chick by mixing the equal amounts of oregano, thyme and cayenne pepper and mixed some with the regular chick's mash (like 1 teaspoon per cup of mash). good luck.
