Araucana thread anyone?

I am holding my breath on my first hatch... I have pips!! I would love it if I could get some comments on the babies when I post pics. I have so much to learn, and have been reading here and soaking it all up like a sponge.
Lanae, I just checked out your website, too, and am so in love with all your birds... what an amazing job you've done. :)

Here's my 'fluff'. =D

I'm sorry but isn't that an Easter Egger? I see beard/muffs. Did you get it from a feedstore or hatchery? Very adorable regardless, but it looks like an Easter Egger not an Araucana. Araucanas rarely and preferably don't have tails, and never have beard/muffs.

Lanae, Wheatens don't have black on their backs, heads, and brown on the back.

Thank you for the kind comments. I need to update it with this years birds. They are turning out to be my nicest so far. I am excited.

I can't wait to see your photos of your new babies.

Actually Illia, yes they do. Wheatens tend to have just a few brown spots on their heads and every once in a while can have a few spots on their backs.

And that bird is feathering out with wheaten colors and is very similar to my chicks.

This is a wheaten pullet and even though you cant see it she has a few dots of brown on her back.

This is a split wheaten and wild type roo that is feathering in wheaten.

Yes, I'd love to participate - have to figure out how to put pictures up. I have 3 - 2 are about 10 days old and one I would say 2 weeks - what loves they are. Already starting to fly; very interested in my and will hop right up on my hand - love the little perch I made them - They are all brown with darker brown stripes - I can already tell they will be one of my favorites!!!

Okay, correction, BBR's yes they will have black on their backs and even brown, but true Wheatens at most only have a black dot on the head. Neither though should have a black stripe from the eye on back as the suspected EE has.
