Araucana thread anyone?

I had one over the weekend, and it wasn't. I don't think he liked my araucana. LOL he liked the big girls. I saw him mount them all the time, but never my hamburgs, araucana or araucana cross.

Well that stinks. If I get NPIP certified this summer and successfully hatch I will send you a cockerel in the fall if you would want to pay the shipping. I won't have any white ones, though. Just a thought.

I might seriously take you up on that. I'd have to get at least one more pullet too, so I could go back to my original plan... which was to breed the araucana and make ee off of the other hens...

However.... Pullets are the money makers!!! I'd pay for her. I can see a breeder giving away a cockerel, but not a pullet!!!

I see it as paying it forward. Nancy Utterback gave me an unbelievable deal on the chicks I bought from her, and she GAVE me the mother hen! I was insistent on paying for "Mama", but she refused. I was supposed to get 7 chicks, but a hawk got one the day before I picked them up. Nancy said "You came here thinking you were getting 7 chicks, so just take the hen".
Besides, I'm not in this to make money, I'm in this to promote the breed.
