Thanks for sharing the pics Lanae. He's extraordinary to say the least. I've never heard of a triple tufted Araucana before. Do you think the third tuft affects his crow any (laughing crow) or does he have a normal crow? Maybe some of his offspring will get a unique crow.

Good luck on your first hatch from him!!!

I have and hatched one for another member on here.. they are pretty neat looking, but Ive seen one with a single tuft on the back of the head already, which i wish i would have taken pic's of it. just one which it looked really funny..

here's pic's of a triple tufted chick. you can see the two darker colored tufts on the sides of the head, then the light colored one on the neck..i called him Mr Wiskers while he was here... lol

I also have 4 gorgeous chicks that I hatched from Lanae's eggs. I got 2 tufted chicks of the 4 and all are rumpless! I love them

Uhm...... well...... Uhmmmm, wow. Uh, I like what you've done with your look there Wilds...... it's, well, wild.

Wilds of Pa,

If I get a chicken that looks anything like that I promise to ship it to you. Arn't you about ready for another project? You could call them pendacanas, or just ugly. Course they would probably be the sweetest things and want to be held all the time and when company came over they would be right there to be seen and petted. Gross.

I will post pics of his babies when they hatch. I will probably never get a tufted baby out of him because he wasted all his tuftedness on himself.

Lanae

His crow is similar to my other araucanas. So it doesn't seem to affect him that way. The girls are picking at his head tufts so they look pretty rough, but they are leaving his chest tuft alone.

Wilds of Pa,

You have seen the 3 tuft thing before, any clue whey they do that? Somehow it looks more adorable on the baby.

Lanae

you mean why they pick the tuft feathers, i often thought that is was because of being board, esp if they don't free range.

yes if you get an ugly like that pic and no feathers send it my way....

Yes they sure are cute on the Lil fluff balls.. but the adult tufts are neat to..
