Araucana thread anyone?

If you got Ameracaunas from a feed store you are lucky. Usually they sell you Easter Eggers. The hatcheries don't seem to know the difference. I am hatching Araucana eggs in my incubator that are going on lockdown on Sunday. I will either have very few or too many to count. LOL

I absolutely love the Geese. I have only had them about a week so far, but they are not messy at all. Now my ducks were disgusting creatures. Wonderful personalities but so dirty and messy. Geese don't eat like ducks do. Ducks have to take a bite of food then dip their bill in the water, so their water becomes gross very fast. The geese don't do that so far.

Their poop while bigger than geese is drier and more solid also.

Now that's not nice! I made myself promise myself no more shipped Araucana eggs; I have had such wretched hatch rates out of them. You're chicks are so, so , so , so lovely!!!!!!! I hope the auction goes very well for you.

I hated our geese. Loved them when they were babies and so cute it hurt - hated them when they drew blood on my son and we had to fence them away from the humans. Killed them the day I looked out my window and saw one enormous goose standing on my dear sweet Wyandotte hen while the other three pulled her feathers out by the mouth full.
I was later told that the breed of geese matters a LOT when it comes to their temperament and the ones that we had were not spotted when they were babies, so hopefully you have a much kinder breed of Geese Lanae.
Hope your tour goes well!!! That's pretty awesome of you to show them your place.
