Araucana thread anyone?

New mama with my first batch of Araucanas, and I just have to show them off.

If anyone can help with color identification, sure would appreciate it.
Sorry about the picture quality on some of these. They sure do move quickly.

this little one is a little shaky.

There's more, but it's a mixed order and frankly, I'm not sure what some of them are. Others are Coronation Sussex and Lavender Orpingtons.

Congrats!!!!!!!!!

I am sad to announce that due to family decision, we need to part with our beautiful tailed Araucana cockrel. We have too many boys from our spring hatch and he is just not working well in our mixed flock. If there is anyone interested that is in AR, OK, Missouri, please PM me. He is a beautiful BBR from the U of A Dr. Bramwells stock.

Sorry for the blurry pic but he will not stand still.

One rooster for both black and colored programs isn't going to work very well. if you use any of those roosters on black hens, you will get offspring with various amounts of bleed through. Really you should have 1 rooster per color you plan to work on because those colors are not compatible. Sorry

Hey Syble,

I have 3 pens :) each pen will be its own color. But I only wanted to keep one of those roos. Probably which ever is closest to breed standard. Which ever one is suggested he will be kept and added to the appropriate breed color pen :) sorry my post was not too clear.

Some of my latest chicks, 2 black, 1 blue, 1 chocolate and 2 mauve (chocolate/blues)

I love fluff balls!

I can't believe how quickly they grow. My "babies" are 20 weeks now.

This is the only way I could keep her still for a good photo. Her tuft was bigger but some "hater" has plucked some feathers.

Maybe, maybe, maybe

!!!! Perch (my girl) was spending alot of time making a nest in the box this morning. I watched for a while but left her alone. When I returned, a beautiful nest but no egg

My hatch of Debi's eggs turned out excellent! I now have 7 little healthy chicks! I got one that is double tuffed and the thought brought up a question to my mind. Is it better to have a tuffed rooster with an untuffed hen or a tuffed hen with an untuffed rooster. (what combination may give me more tuffed chicks in the future?)
Thank you!!
