Are buff orps good layers??

They are a dual purpose breed, so they are okay layers. Mine usually lays three or four eggs a week. If you're looking for birds that lay almost every day, you'd be better off with leghorns or sex links. I really do like the buff orps, though - they have great personalities and are very good birds. They just don't lay quite as well as some other breeds.

My Buff Orp lays pretty much every day. Slowing down a bit for winter, but over the summer she was laying about 8 or 9 days in a row before taking a day off.
