I’m looking to get both guinea fowl and or peafowl later down the road. It’s not that noise would necessarily be a problem but in some places I’ve heard peafowl noise carries very far. I love the look of peacocks and peahens but not if it’s going to disrupt those surrounding me. Anyways I was just wondering what are the pros and cons to both, which one is “friendlier” , and most importantly which one is louder
Thank you in advance!!

My Peafowl make random noises throughout the day and are loud, but I've heard Guinea fowl never shut up. That would definitely irritate me more. My Tom turkeys are so loud and annoying when I walk by their pen, I could handle peafowl all day long.

I live about 1/4 mile from peafowl and guineas. It is true that the peafowl noise carries further than the guineas. I only hear the guineas when the wind is blowing their noise my way. The peafowl don't vocalize that much and it is a very brief call at usually odd times of the day. Guinneas on the other hand, well I'll just say I no longer eye them longingly nor would consider owning any.

Thank you, so I’ve actually had 4 Tom heritage turkeys all at once when I ordered from a hatchery and they blessed me with all males and quite honestly that wasn’t too loud. Not that it was quite when all 4 of them where gobbling together but It wasn’t really that bad

Lol thank you. Honestly I like peafowl a lot more but the only reason I’m even considering guineas is for the ticks. I’ll have to see down the road how bad the ticks are. I’m hopeful that the looks of the peacock will out way any negative noise that him and his girl friends make
