that's how I do mine too.

I like to wait until about two weeks. Even at that problems arise. I had a gal buy three two week old Cameos she picked up here. A few days later she called and said two of them died, I told her no problem drop by for some free replacements. It wasn't until after I had given her the second chicks that she told me she had given them scratch grain. They had no grit in them and all she was feeding was grain.

Every chick that leaves here leaves with a bag of crumbles, I guess I will start advising folks that it they're going to any feed scratch or other feed, to supply grit as well.
